It generates a wide range of data (scientific, social, models) that are not yet in line with FAIR principles. To remedy this, a national FAIR platform is currently being developed. It aims to create an ecosystem of interoperable data, beyond a simple catalog, based on international standards and national and global collaborations. Three axes are being developed: 1 -A survey to identify needs and build the platform with users. 2- An adaptation of FAIR principles to the water sector, with grids tested on existing data. 3 &#8211; A technical architecture in line with recent standards (OGC, W3C, etc.) incorporating FAIR best practices. This project proposes (1) the creation of a new SensorThings instance, (2) methods for configuring this instance, (3) different data paths from the sensor to the service, (4) the connection of this service to geographic data infrastructures in terms of metadata and geographic layers and (5) the generation of viewers of this service in cartographic or time-only portals. For this purpose, eLTER has designed, implemented and operates a federated data infrastruc-ture called the eLTER Information System. This e-infrastructure o\ufb00ers data stored in existing partner data systems, harmonised by a central discovery portal and federated data access com-ponents providing a common information management infrastructure for making environmental data available from distributed resources provided by the contributing LTER national networks. Designing, building and optimising such a pan-European environmental data infrastructure is a lengthy and complex process that is based on a set of criteria de\ufb01ned by user needs, share-holder requirements and general service and technology best practises. To further improve and extend the eLTER Information System, user needs have recently been collected by (a) targeted interviews with selected stakeholders to identify the scope and background of the data and ICT requirements, (b) workshops mapping user requirements based on personas derived from the interviews, and (c) analysis work on extracting so-called user stories. The requirements collec-tions are used to derive functional (i.e. the behaviour of essential features of the system) and non-functional (i.e. the general characteristics of the system) requirements for the IT infrastruc-ture and services. These collected requirements revolve around the development of work\ufb02ows for the ingestion, curation and publication of data objects including the creation, harvesting, discovery and visualisation of metadata as well as providing means to support the analysis of these datasets and communicating study results. Cet article d\u00e9crit comment l\u2019\u00e9quipe d\u2019anthropologues du programme a compos\u00e9, tout au long de ce processus, avec une s\u00e9rie de tensions qui mettent \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve leur rapport aux donn\u00e9es qu\u2019ils produisent, aux personnes et situations qui en sont \u00e0 l\u2019origine, et \u00e0 leur m\u00e9tier-m\u00eame. Cette s\u00e9ance prendra appui sur l\u2019exp\u00e9rience de publication d\u2019un large corpus de donn\u00e9es h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e8nes au sein d\u2019un \u00ab catalogue \u00bb grand public, conduite dans le cadre du <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parchemins.bzh\/\">programme Paroles et chemins de l\u2019agriculture littorale<\/a> (INRA, 2016-2020), pour aborder le sens et les b\u00e9n\u00e9fices de cette pratique, au del\u00e0 des multiples injonctions qui sont adress\u00e9es aux communaut\u00e9s de recherche pour qu\u2019elles rendent leur donn\u00e9es accessibles.
